Ayan Movie Review

If you are someone who enjoy a good masala flick then you are going to relish Ayan. The film starts with the hero smartly escapes the customs checkup and smuggles a movie cd and from there its all action through out. The movie stringently follows all the rules of tamil cinema. A Super smart hero, his godfather guardian, A heroine only to add color to the songs with no connection to the main plot, Not so smart cops, etc... the only missing thing is a separate comedy track.

As far as the storyline is concerned, two groups involved in smuggling out of which one tries to outdo other and wants to establish the supremacy and how the hero with his smuggling skills outsmarts the villain forms the part of the story embedded with songs, dance, fights, emotions etc... All together its a fine blend of Hollywood thought in a fine masala package.

This film draws inspirations from movies like Vantage point, Blood diamond, Catch me if u can etc. Nevertheless it is a good attempt. I appreciate the director for not doing the copycat stuff. Everyone has performed their role to perfection. But I still wonder why such a beautiful Tamannah was wasted. Surya has done the job neatly and Prabhu chips in perfectly. Ponvannan does a neat job as police officer. The choice of villain could have been better, his lip sync goes awry at times.Jegan, Karunas are also in the cast. Cinematography is good, Editing is good, Music is OK.

The Verdict: Definitely watchable, Nice movie for the summer. I didnt understand the relevance with the title.
